Angel Delight Trifle

Another blast from the past, here is my no added sugar Angel delight trifle, perfect for Christmas Day dessert or for any other occasion! This sweet layered trifle is so quick and easy to make, yet can look so pretty (and if you have little ones, they are bound to love it too!)

For my trifles I like to use the strawberry flavoured no added sugar Angel Delight as I think this works best with raspberry or strawberry sugar free jelly.

For this dessert you need to use NO ADDED SUGAR Angel Delight or store’s own brand NO ADDED SUGAR delight or NO ADDED SUGAR ‘whippy dessert’.

Cream for topping trifles

The cream is a pairing tool for the carbs in the angel delight and so it is important to use REAL cream which contain natural fats such as double cream whipped up, or a spray cream which does not contain added sugars. The only spray creams that I have found which do not contain added sugars are Anchor Extra Thick spray cream and Marks & Spencer UHT real dairy cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack NO ADDED SUGAR strawberry Angel Delight
  • 150 ml whole milk
  • 150 ml double cream
  • 1 pack sugar free jelly crystals
  • 150 grams fresh raspberries (or other berries)
  • whipped cream
  • 1 piece dark chocolate grated

Instructions

For the jelly

  • Make up the sugar free jelly as directed on the packet and pour into glasses/ramekins
  • Place 3 raspberries in each glass into the jelly
  • Put the jellies into the fridge to chill and set

For the no added sugar Angel Delight

  • Add the milk and cream into a bowl
  • Add the NAS Angel Delight and whisk rapidly until thickened
  • Top each jelly with a layer of angel delight
  • Cover the angel delight with whipped real cream, Anchor Extra Thick spray cream or M&S real spray cream
  • Top each trifle with a few berries and/or a small grating of dark chocolate or sugar free sprinkles
