When you just want to grab a quick little something to munch on, a cheats cheesecake is the perfectly-paired sweet treat fix you may be looking for. Made with a Nairn’s oat biscuit, a good dollop of cream cheese and topped with a sliced strawberry, a couple of raspberries or blueberries. These cheats cheesecake bites are a quick and easy treat that shouldn’t spike blood sugar levels too high.

Note: this is not so much of a recipe, but a quick snack to put together which may help you.

Pick up Nairn’s oat biscuits in most supermarkets and shops. You can often find these in Aldi, Lidl, B&M & Home Bargains. Nairn’s have a standard oat biscuit in many different flavours, but they also have gluten-free biscuit breaks which are also suitable to use too.

If you can’t find Nairn’s oat biscuits, then you can try a plain digestive or oatie biscuit (like a Hobnob or store own brand equivalent) which are slightly higher in carbs – just make sure you use plenty of full-fat cream cheese to help pair them!

Don’t be fooled into thinking more expensive sugar-free or zero-added sugar biscuits or cookies are better. Most of these biscuits contain the same or more carbs than regular biscuits and contain artificial sweeteners which can be no better than sugar.
