Hot Lemon & Ginger

If you have a sore throat, a cold, or are feeling under the weather, a cup of fresh, hot lemon and ginger can really help soothe your throat without worrying about spiking blood sugar levels.

Note: Avoid the honey!

Typically, honey is added to hot lemon drinks to help soothe sore throats. Unfortunately, although it is natural and contains antioxidants, honey is also very high in natural sugars. When added to liquid and heated, it is absorbed very quickly and causes high blood sugar levels; therefore, honey and syrups should be avoided.
