No Added Sugar Angel Delight (or NAS Angel Delight) and shops own No Added Sugar (NAS) ‘Delight’ whip, which is a favourite quick and easy pudding for many GD Mums.

It is not tolerated by all, but in small servings with the recipe tweaked to pair it more heavily, for many it doesn’t spike blood sugar levels but is a nice, sweet treat!

Shops’ own brand of no-added sugar Angel Delight is usually more widely available than the branded Angel Delight and is absolutely fine to use instead. It is sold in ASDA, Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.

Delight is available in 4 flavours: butterscotch, strawberry, chocolate and banana.

Making the Delight with cream and whole milk increases the fat content, slowing down the absorption of glucose into the bloodstream. Adding more cream on top and/or nuts will also increase the fat and protein content, which helps to pair the Delight even more.

Making the Delight in small ramekins is advisable so you don’t overindulge. A pack contains four servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack No Added Sugar Angel Delight
  • 150 ml whole milk
  • 150 ml double cream

Instructions

  • Add the milk and cream into a bowl
  • Add the NAS Angel Delight and whisk rapidly until thickened
  • Pop in the fridge to set. Ideally add Anchor Extra Thick or M&S spray cream (other spray creams contain added sugar), or whipped double cream and nuts on top
